Situated on the Tuscan hills south-east of Florence, Villa di Torre a Cona rises in the place where originally stood the castle of the Lords of Quona.
In 1343, the Rinuccini family bought the estate and owned it until 1848, when the Trivulzio family acquired it. The villa was then sold to Baron Emilio Padoa in 1882.
The villa that can still be admired today is the result of complex 18th-century renovation works that concerned the whole estate. It was in that period that the wide park surrounding the building and embellished with mythological and allegoric statues by Giuseppe Cantini was realized.
